I had been a member of fitness clubs before. A couple of years ago, I dropped my memberships with two local clubs because I wasn’t using them. I didn’t have the time, or so I thought. I’ve battled with body image and my weight since I was in the 6th grade (the point at which I started caring what I looked like compared to everyone else). There were times when I was devoted to a healthier lifestyle by incorporating regular workouts and other times when I felt like I just couldn’t fit it in between work and my personal life. I had a baby 2 ½ years ago, and although all but 11 pounds out of the 72 I had gained are gone, I still wasn’t comfortable with my appearance and my energy was depleted. I knew I needed help when I didn’t have the energy to run around the playground with my daughter. I was in tears while trying to figure out what I needed to do to not be “that mom”. Now that you know the benefits of what XA Physique, Fitness, & Performance Training will do for you, it’'s time you know how to truly…..."S.E.T." yourself apart™ Sleep well, Eat well, Train Well™The trifecta, trinity and triple threat against obesity, disease, sickness, low energy, bad mood, depression, low self esteem, bad posture on and on is to…:1. SLEEP WELL (The body’'s biggest ally is sleep. 8 HOURS)When we train or exercise we are actually breaking down the muscle causing small micro tears. Proper nutrition, supplementation, and vitamins, refuels and replenishes the body, while sleep, and rest is where the body begins to repair the muscle(s) we break down during exercise, which is what makes the muscles grow, and develop. 2. EAT WELLBALANCED NUTRITION OF GRAIN, FRUIT & VEGETABLES, MEAT, DAIRY. There of course are some of you who are vegan or vegetarian, those will be addressed. Let's talk about one meal in particular, that being BREAKFAST. Breakfast is our morning meal standard. But why is it called breakfast?When we sleep typcally referring to night time sleep our bodies are fasting. Fasting simply means go without food or a certain type or amount of food. So when we have awakened in the morning to eat, we are "breaking" the fast so your morning meal is "beakfast". It's also known to be the "most important meal of the day". Why? Because eating breakfast jump starts your metabolism for your day. Due to breaking your fast your body is needing its first doses (if you will) of proteins, carbs, fat, vitamins, minerals etc. So it's going to work at a higher rate to take in what it needs for fuel and such. So always eat your breakfast. (Additionally a daily multivitamin and supplementation).3. TRAIN WELLAT LEAST AN HOUR A DAY OF EXERCISE. STRENGTH, CARDIO, CORE, FUNCTIONAL, ETC.Furthermore, let’'s dive deeper in to some basics of Train well.A. Eat (ideally) 2hours prior to your workout (supplement according to directions)B. Always have water (and if you’re like me, gum).C. Warm up the body with light cardio no more than 10 minutes.D. Post workout, do the bulk of your cardio, or, designate a specific day for cardio only. Furthermore, make sure to incorporate stretching (DO NOT STRETCH COLD MUSCLE(S).E. Breath Breath Breath! No passing out please! Always breath OUT during the contraction, no matter the exercise or movement, and breath IN while releasing the contraction which prepares you to fuel the muscle with oxygen during the contraction. EXAMPLE: Let’s say your preparing to squat. While in the upright position, you should take a few inhale exhale breaths to oxygenate the muscles before the movement. Then during the descent slowly inhale, because you want to be actively exhaling during the ascent to the upright position. (A LOT OF YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS, BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED AS TO HOW MANY DO NOT KNOW THESE BASICS OF TRAINING). PROPER TECHNIQUE IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS ANYTHING YOU DO. WHEN THE BASICS BECOME SECOND NATURE, THEN YOU WILL NOTICE A CHANGE IN YOUR WORKOUT AND THEREFORE, YOUR DEVELOPMENT.
UH OH! This next subject matter is the one everyone will hate to own up to. Sugar and sodas. GASP!!OK so the recent subject of sugar and weight loss came up over dinner, and right then I new it was time to offer some education on this challenging thing we enjoy called sugar and its effects against weight loss. Specifically Soda consumption. I'm not going into scientific detail however I will exhaust as much as I can on this subject continuously. So what you read today, may not be all inclusive to what's added as days go on. Because this sugar subject is VERY important related to health.First the basics, when we eat our body transforms some of that food into a sugar called glucose (mainly when we eat bread, potatoes, and rice). Just like a car has several fluids so that the operating systems can perform correctly e.g, oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and of course the fuel, gas. So if our blood is the oil of our automotive body, then think of it like this, glucose is the main body's fuel, all functions in the body need glucose. Which is why out of all three things we need i.e., carbohydrates, proteins, and fat; carbs we still need the bulk of.Anyway back to sugar. Here are some forms of sugars fructose, mainly from fruit, lactose mainly from milk, and galactose. Ok So we eat, and glucose (the fuel/gas) gets absorbed into the blood stream and carried to all cells of the body. The amount that gets unused is stored in the liver as glycogen for later use.Now here is where I give some details before falling off the deep end into hypo and hyperglycemia which is still very relevant just not my primary focus for this subject.When our blood sugar gets too high, our body recruits insulin to bring it DOWN to normal levels, when our sugar gets too LOW, our body recruits sugar from the body to bring it back UP to normal levels in brief.What we find in most foods we consume for snacks, drinks, etc are simple sugars. We have within our body a level of natural homeostasis, meaning a balance, equilibrium, stability, etc. that occurs. Now it's time to eat a treat, a cheat food, or whatever we justifingly call it. But here's what happens. We eat that sugary food and WE LIKE IT! YUM!! Then what? The seal is broken!Long story short for those that it applies to, we eat more and more and more of these snacks, pies, candies, cookies, cakes, drinks, sodas, wooo getting juicy huh? I bet your mouth is craving these right now. That's what happens. But before even that we build up a tolerance, now we NEED more to feel the same rush of energy so what happens when our tolerance gets high? Before you know it the DEPENDANCY has shown up, which brings on the withdrawals and cravings. Oh boy!!! What now? We've noticed we gained some pounds our jeans don't fit, How can this be, I know, I'll at least switch to diet soda at least there isn't any sugar in diet soda.HAHAHAH!!! (sugars evil laugh)But now, the EDUCATION!!! Remember it's all about empowerment. Taking in too many SIMPLE SUGARS will cause you to have more difficulty burning fat as fuel, if your simple sugars are LOW you're going to be naturally releasing body fat throughout the day, whether your exercising or any other movement in the day.THE JUICY STUFF! That "diet" soda comment you read,then the evil laugh, well here's why. Studies have been shown that when you think you are doing something special by getting to drink diet soda, still getting the flavor but not the 8-13 spoons of sugar per can by drinking diet; your're actually doing alot worse to yourself and diet soda is linked to actually WEIGHT GAIN!! But how you ask? Ok, diet soda still has flavor, or an odd one, where do you think that flavor, (or what you THINK is lack of) is coming from? Hmm? If you said ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS you are correct!!But here's the thing, the studies (perdue university w/rats) show that artificial sweeteners are actually causing you to gain more weight! One 12oz can of DIET soda can increase health probelms e.g., weight gain, metabolic syndrom by 30-40% yikes!!The artificial sweeteners are confusing your body, it's getting the flavor but not the calorie load, which causes a mix match in the brains chemistry. So what happens is your brain tells you to crave the same sugar that you are wanting to avoid. Even though artificials sweets (for short) aren't being counted as calories doesn't mean your body is tolerating them. Aspartame is common one that you'll find in a big brand that claims zero sugar. When we drink sugar as opposed to eating sugar we will consume A LOT more. Eating sugar may cause you to get tired of whatever it is at that moment, but drinking sugar we can easily go over board. So be careful, I won't tell you what do, I'll only offer to empower you through education. Sleep well, Eat Well, Train WellAlmost forgot, just wanted to share some alternatives, agave, honey & maple.

FOR WOMEN"I DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE A MAN." A lot of women tend to think if they lift a weight they will eventually look like a man with too much bulk and lose their feminine look. NOT SO!The only way, you women can EVER pull this off, is by taking something illegal. You don't have enough testosterone in you body for this to happen. In fact, when you lift weights you gain more muscle, which in turn supports the body to burn fat faster. You may weigh the same or more, however you drop clothes sizes due to the lean muscle that replaced the fat.Lift those weights to tone those arms, shape your back, and it will help you do exercises more effectively due to the strength gained.Do those squat, lunges, AND deadlifts. Shape those legs, and that coveted gluteus. You will thank yourself!
PUSH YOURSELF TO DO MORE!Don't get used to training just to have something to do, train to improve.Shake things up. Keep your body guessing. Add 5-10 lbs more than you did last week on any given exercise.Do a higher box jump, do an extra rep. Do negatives, partials, etc.Allow me to clarify these two. A negative is simply doing the contraction backwards like when lowering your arm from a bicep curl, do it slowly then lift iT with the other arm and repeat process.Partials is where you don't do a full extension. You simply keep the body part from going to full extension, before pulling back for the rep. This is usual a mass, and strength builder.So just remember don't get complacent, allow your body to freak out and guess often, you will see results!

My story about this product is simply this. I accidentally found out about ASEA while doing a search on a company.I sent my information to the person thinking we were going to be discussing something else completely. The woman on the other end began telling me about this product, and my immediate thought was "shucks! This is way off from what I expected to be discussing.None the less I was open to possibilities. I gave her my honest feedback about my life, my bodybuilding, being a trainer, and another element to this whole puzzle (stay tuned for that one!! exciting!!) She mentioned how it's something I should highly consider due to me being and athlete and trainer, yet she also understood and appreciated my honesty to the fact that I'm open, however the timing for this and me weren't in line. So she stayed in touch through-out a course of about 6 months, and I was just not interested in a networking business due to my past experience. Now here's the thing I believe 100% in networking businesses, but I wasn't mentally prepared to try yet another one since I've "been there and done that" type of thing.New years eve 2011, I was at a house party ringing in the new year and met someone who had a business so I asked for her card, she gave me a brochure of her business then I read the back, and saw that name ASEA, and very familiar bottle. So I said hey I heard of this, then I told this "her" about the first "her" and she said how amazed she was at this product. So being the second time around and what we discussed I thought hmm "sometimes life is funny that way" just when you think it's not right when opportunity knocks, opportunity comes back another day and gives you another chance. This time I really thought I should see about this. But I was very clear, I don't want to sell this, I more-so want a healthy, safe, clean product for my clients. She said yes she was the same way. I also am one that wants to explore the benefits first hand to see if there is any validity to anything I've heard, and if it works for me then it's something I would endorse. Born with a melting pot of blood lines, Bryce Brandon had the genetics of a youthful appearance speedster i.e., long legs, skinny and fast. He said because he always looked much younger than his age, no one ever took him seriously about anything he felt. It all hit him one day and (in his own words) said to himself "before anyone can take me seriously, I have to take myself seriously and when I turn this on I will never turn it off". After years of being a cardio athlete in his high school days by way of track and field, cycling, and basketball primarily. He decided to take on the regimen of getting into a different kind of shape, muscle development and strength training.2002 is the year he started bodybuilding and would never quit. Never having the desire to compete, he trained simply for strength and size. He fell in love with it and started getting noticed and approached with questions of whether he is a competitor. This went on for a couple of years until one day someone approach and said “hey Kevin!” not knowing, he looked puzzled, and the guy noticed the puzzled look and said “aren’'t you Kevin?” He Replied, “"No my name is Bryce Brandon”."The guy and some friends mistook him for a well-known Olympia bodybuilder who he’'d never heard of at the time. Remember he hadn’'t been into the sport of bodybuilding or the lifestyle.The proverbial seal was broken. Bryce began to get noticed in places from the gym to casinos and frequent trips to California all with the same comment “"you look like Kevin Levrone”." At a popular night club in his home town of Las Vegas and actor passing him by the mens room said "hey kevin" Bryce Brandon laughed and said "I get it often" The actor (who's name is Brandon) said "I'm so sorry I thought you were my friend Kevin Levrone, and boy do you look just like him" Brandon with the same name sake he found played in several bit comedies like dode ball. He and brandon swapped social network site info and stayed connected. Then He says he started (naturally) counting around 10 times then lost count around 40. He said he had to find out why they thought he looked like an Olympian bodybuilder. After finding Kevin Levrone on the internet, it was clear. Kevin retired from bodybuilding and saught acting therefore he slimmed down from non competition weight. Due to Kevin's transformation Bryce Brandon has even been asked for Kevin Levrone’s autograph at the Olympia convention. It continues till this day.After having been approached by a fellow gym rat and past competitor and told of a local bodybuilding show, Bryce blew it off with NO plans to ever compete.As time went on, that changed. He attended his very first Mr. Olympia convention in Las Vegas in 2005, and came face to face with his look-a-like Kevin Levrone, even that day was asked for Kevins autograph. He experienced the great Ronnie Coleman win his unprecedented 8th consecutive Mr. Olympia title front row with the media press crew. That year he was fortunate to have meda pass credentials which gave him access to what most never experience at a show like that, such as one-on ones with athletes private signings, and meetings, etc. That was all it took!The following year he attended his 2nd Olympia convention, and after being lightly pressured, entered an impromptu abs competition on the spot. The prize would be a line of supplements from the company, and the crowd would judge. Bryce nervous and yet curious about his development, simply threw caution to the wind. After 3 rounds of judging he won first place and the line of supplements. He had caught the bug. The rest is history in the making. Bryce Brandon chose to live a full health and wellness lifestyle and chose not to drink, and never having been a smoker, complimented that choice very well. His underground rise to notoriety began to take steam when a friend from the gym and owner of a supplement store decided to take workout videos of Bryce Brandon and several other local inspiring gym peers.After having posted the videos on Youtube and being labeled by the supplement store as “THE MODEL BRYCE BRANDON” his workout video’s soared with THOUSANDS of viewers.After then being approached by strangers in the gym and asked if he's now Bryce Brandon it was mentioned they saw his videos. Bryce found a new surge of energy to get better and better. He would get emails from strangers as far away as Japan and questions and compliments from others training in the gym, all while remaining humble. Bryce went on to be a fitness model for the athletic based apparel company EVERLAST in the annual “MAGIC” apparel convention.Bryce Brandon made the leap and decision to step on stage to do the local bodybuilding classic that was mentioned to him years before. As well, took on some people to mentor and train. From that point on Bryce was sold out to the world of bodybuilding and extreme sports alike.Two years later Bryce went on to win his first trophy in the 2008 Las Vegas bodybuilding classic placing 4th which further added steam to his new-found path in life. After several more attendances to the Mr. Olympia, in 2009 Bryce again was egged on to now do another amateur pose down from the same company he’'d won supplements from before. Bryce Brandon continues to post videos for the world to follow his improvement and support others, and the extreme sport of bodybuilding. Bryce Brandon is now being sought after for photo ops and wants to take the natural marriage of bodybuilding and physique modeling as far as he can.Bryce said he never had anyone mentor him to where his is right now, however has been inspired by folloing the indirect advice and methods of those that paved the way. How you look on the outside, is a reflection of how you feel on the insideTM Everything begins with a thought. The words above aren't an empty catch phrase it's MY way of thinking, i.e., the XA creed.Whatever you think, your mouth will say; whatever you say, your body has NO choice but to follow. The basics of your body's hierarchy. Think of it like this, thoughts become words, words become action, action create results.Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself honestly, how do you feel? How have you felt? Your emotions have physical manifestations outwardly. With some of us, that manisfestation is different; some, the same. When your emotions have affected your mood negatively, it takes a toll on your over-all health, causing bad habits to form. When your mood is of a positive nature, people say, "you glow" or "what a great smile", or you're asked about often, because others are subconsciously affected by your infectious positivity.Some of our strongest physical weaknesses (I know oxy moron right?) or vices tend to involve food, sex, and drugs; however there are more. So, I'll help you ask yourself these questions:What type of situations have you had in your past? Have you experienced an eating disorder? How has it made you feel? Do you notice changes in your appearance, your ways of being, your mood? Have you lost loved ones? (we all have) how has that affected your mood over time? What about your relationships, are you depressed from a bad divorce, or breakup? Maybe an unhealthy one you're still in. Maybe you're unemployed, under-employed, or really hate your line of work, or job. Or maybe some kind of abuse e.g., physical, or mental abuse, whatever.Do you feel ugly, overweight, depressed, or angry about any of these or any other situation in your life? When these unfortunate situations occur in our lives, and we feel angry and depressed we begin to ellicit bad behaviors and begin searching for ways to numb the pain of the experience. Some of the these ways show up as watching bad tv or programming, bad music, binge and reckless eating, getting on the all alcohol diet i.e., drinking heavy or often, smoking, taking prescription drugs, illegal drugs, saying bad things, cheating, promiscuity, cursing alot, uneccessary fighting, addictions, even shopping excessively, and hoarding. Then what happens? Listlessness sets in, you get idol, you're not as active as you once were, or your state of mind shows in your posture, or/and you pick up weight, etc.I can ask many questions for you to ask yourself. The big question is whether you believe it or not, and want to be limited to a victim. When something inside us is not right and out of balance these are the things "the world" offers us as a prescription. We don't need to be controlled. But we will, when we turn to the these things that ultimatley destroy us slowly and over time if not done safely or within certain ways. Or, in some of these scenarios, not done at all. So doesn't the creed speek truth? One in which we all are, were victims, or may become susceptible to. So do a reality check, a gut check, and if you get a bad tip, don't cash THAT check. Just do personal inventory check of your internal closet to see what you come up with. Hopefully, how you look outside is your true reflection and not one of circumstances.I seek to EMPOWER you not BE your power. By what I've been blessed to be certified and qualified to do and pay forward, if you feel a certain way that doesn’t serve you well, allow me to support you starting from the outside.
Living in Las Vegas, I see my share of advertising, and advertisments.Being an advocate of health mentally, I'm very much so an advocate of the appearance, but more in the sense as a REFLECTION again like my slogan creed.We live in a city noted for things being on display, i.e., seen for the sake of drawing (hopefully) the right attention. Also Being a measure of health for others to emulate. Cities like our neighbors in L.A. San diego, orange county, etc., Phoenix, our cousins in Miami and surrounding south florida. These places are known for it's sun and fun and that means physiques and plenty of em.I say all that to say this, in this city, and our world of physique, Fitness, & Performance no pun intended, we are always our own "build board", (you know, kind of like the-back-to the ole drawing board adage when it's time to create) but as well, to reflect at least our physical health outwardly, we also must take it upon ourselves to be our own walking "billboard".
